Getting this job felt a bit like closing the circle.

I'm currently in the board of FMO Femmes, a network established for FMO women to connect and inspire.

Having worked only for commercial companies since I graduated from university, I felt that I needed a change. I wanted my work and efforts to contribute not only to the success of the organization, but to reach out further, I wanted to make a difference. And what could be a better place to do that than FMO, a development bank with a mission to empower entrepreneurs to build a better world.

When I made a decision to move to FMO, I hoped that my studies at the Poznan University of Economics and Business (Poland), would compensate my lack of experience in a banking sector. Getting this job felt a bit like closing the circle. I chose my university still thinking that I wanted to become a banker, but when I had to select a faculty on my third year I devoted my heart to communications, and I chose Public Relations and economic journalism. Now, in my role as an internal communications advisor at FMO, it all comes together: banking, communications, and working for an organization with a real heart.

The best part of my job is the people. I get to work on different projects, with colleagues who do completely different jobs and have various backgrounds, so almost every day is exciting and challenging. What I strive to do every day is to facilitate connections and conversations, provide a framework to share the knowledge, exchange ideas and to make sure everyone gets the information he or she needs to contribute to achieving FMO's goals.

I see a lot of opportunities for myself here at FMO. Not only can I grow in my role professionally, but I can also broaden my horizon and knowledge. I'm currently in the board of FMO Femmes, a network established for FMO women to connect and inspire. I'm also involved in the FMO International Network, which supports international employees. That diversity in gender, culture and generations, makes FMO a very special place to work, with a unique culture. A culture where people are passionate about what they do, care deeply about each other, who want to share, learn and see the company succeed.
